Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the spokeswoman for the Foreign Office, has criticized the remarks made by the Indian External Affairs Ministry regarding the joint statement made by China and Pakistan about Jammu and Kashmir. She has demanded that India implement the resolutions made by the United Nations regarding the area.
The FO spokesperson stated late on Wednesday night that “India has no right to object to the references made to Jammu and Kashmir in the Pakistan-China Joint Statement of June 8.”
The statement was made in response to questions from the media over remarks made on June 13 by the Indian ministry. According to Baloch, the UN Security Council (UNSC) has the dispute over Jammu and Kashmir on its agenda.
Pakistan informed the Chinese government of the most recent developments about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, according to the joint statement from China and Pakistan.
“The Chinese side reiterated that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is a remnant of the past and should be properly and peacefully resolved in accordance with the UN Charter, pertinent resolutions of the UN Security Council, and bilateral agreements,” the statement reads.
China and Pakistan have “rejected unwarranted references to Jammu and Kashmir,” according to spokesperson for India’s External Affairs Ministry Randhir Jaiswal.
“We have seen that the joint statement from China and Pakistan makes unnecessary references to Jammu and Kashmir. Such references are totally rejected by us,” Jaiswal declared.
He had insisted that “the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have been, are, and will always remain integral and inalienable parts of India.”
