On July 5, gasoline won’t be available.
The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association has declared a statewide strike that would begin on July 5 and see Islamabad shut down all gas stations in the nation in protest of the government’s sudden withdrawal of the advance tax decision.
In a news conference regarding the budget, Abdul Sami Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association, claimed that the budget’s 0.5 percent advance turnover tax will ruin the gas station industry.
“We already operate gas pumps for little profit. Running a business at the fastest rate of inflation is already challenging,” Khan remarked.
“An increased tax load will bankrupt our company. Because of the excessive taxes, there is no other choice except to close the firm,” he stated.
Abdul Sami Khan declared, “I’ve met the finance minister; he has no response to our inquiries.”
What are the requirements?
The association demanded that the four-day advance income tax be eliminated. Abdul Sami Khan declared, “We have made it very clear that we will take strict action.”
14,000 dealers are represented by Dealer Association.
“Everywhere in the nation, gasoline pumps will stop working and go on strike on July 5,” declared Abdul Sami Khan.
