Following the customary examination of the police evidence by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS), the politician from Northern Ireland was charged with an additional seven crimes.
The former MP faced accusations of 11 sex offenses when he appeared in court in April.
After being charged with four counts, including aiding and abetting him, his wife, Lady Eleanor Donaldson, 58, will now be charged with five.
There are two alleged victims of the alleged offenses, which are said to have occurred between 1985 and 2006.
After making an appearance at the Newry Magistrates Court in County Down on April 24, the pair was granted bail.
On Wednesday, they are scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary inquiry.
After a day of interrogation, Donaldson, the longest-serving MP in Northern Ireland, was charged on March 28 and resigned as leader of the Democratic Union of Progressives.
His party suspended him, and he continued to serve as an independent member of parliament until the May election was called. After 27 years in office as the Lagan Valley MP, he is not running for reelection.
The 61-year-old claimed he would be vehemently disputing the claims in a letter to the party.
