As the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) faces internal divisions, senior leader Asad Qasier and chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contacted their former colleague Fawad Chaudhry and asked him to desist from criticizing the party.
According to sources speaking to News on Thursday, KP Chief Minister Gandapur spoke with Fawad, emphasizing the need to clear up any misunderstandings and requesting that the former minister refrain from criticizing the party’s present leadership.
The sources further stated that Qasier affirmed contacting Fawad and emphasized that all leaders had been asked to remain silent for the time being.
The measure was taken in response to PTI founder Imran Khan’s admission of divisions and factionalism inside the party. Imran Khan is scheduled to meet with “both factions” today in Adia jail.
The former prime minister emphasized that there were no significant divisions within the PTI when reporting on any forward bloc within the party to media in a courtroom at the Adiala facility.
But things are not well within the ranks of the erstwhile ruling party, which is racked by internal strife and frequently pits its leaders against one another in public.
