As part of its global Climb2Change program, Mashreq, a prominent financial institution in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, has announced the start of a mountain clean-up campaign in Pakistan.

The operation will entail cleaning up the base camps at Goro2 and Concordia, as well as two notable mountain summits, K2 and Broad Peak (K3).

By use of the Climb2Change program, Mashreq hopes to tidy up all 14 of the highest mountains on earth.

Seven peak summits and the base camps of the remaining seven mountains are to be reached. T

Renowned Portuguese climber Maria Conceicao and Pakistani climber Naila Kiani will be part of the expedition in Pakistan, which is scheduled to take place between June and August of 2024.

“We are thrilled to expand our mountain clean-up expedition to Pakistan, home to some of the world’s highest peaks, as part of our global initiative, Climb2Change,” Ahmed Abdelaal, CEO of Mashreq, stated.

By climbing and cleaning these famous peaks in the Karakoram range, we hope to inspire positive change while addressing the problems of rubbish accumulation and ecological imbalance. We are working together with local communities, well-known climbers, and our staff on this project.
