SLAMABAD: According to a cause list released on Thursday, the Supreme Court will deliver its eagerly awaited decision on Friday in a case concerning the denial of reserved seats to the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), which is supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

This came about as a result of the full bench of the supreme court convening for the second day in a row on Thursday to discuss the ruling in the reserved seats case.

According to the sources, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa chaired a special session of the 13-member full bench of the country’s top court, which was attended by every judge on the bench.

The meeting’s cause list stated that CJP Isa, as the head of the regular bench of three SC judges, will make the announcement.

Following nine hearings on the SIC’s appeals, during which all parties, including the federal government and the ECP, submitted their views against the SIC’s plea, the supreme court reserved its decision on Tuesday.

Along with Justice Amin-ud-din Khan, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Ayesha Malik, Justice Shahid Waheed, Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, the entire bench is composed of these individuals.
