Clooney wrote an opinion piece for the News on Wednesday, urging President Biden to resign following his conduct during last month’s presidential debate against Donald Trump.
Joe Biden is my favorite. as a senator. both as the president and the vice president. He’s someone I think highly of and consider a friend. Have faith in his personality. Have faith in his ethics. Clooney wrote, “He’s won many of the battles he’s faced in the last four years.”
The one conflict he can’t win, though, is with time. Not one of us is able to.
The Joe Biden I saw at the fund-raiser three weeks ago was not the Joe “big F-ing deal” Biden of 2010. I know this is heartbreaking. Not even the Joe Biden of 2020 was he. We had all seen the same man during the argument.
We are not going to win in November with this administration, Clooney went on. Furthermore, we are going to lose both the Senate and the House. This is not just my perspective; every senator, member of Congress, and governor with whom I have had private conversations agrees with me. All of them, regardless of what they may say in public.
