Cooking oil and ghee costs have gone up nationwide as a result of additional levies imposed in the 2024–25 budget.
The new levies have resulted in a sharp increase in the price of food items, including cooking oil, which has increased by Rs 30 to 40 per kilogram. In addition, the cost of tea, other food items, powdered milk, and bottled milk has increased in July.
