MUZAFFARGARH: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Moazzam Khan Jatoi, who had purportedly gone missing a day earlier, was turned over to the Muzaffargarh police on Thursday by the anti-corruption department of police.
After filing a case against Jatoi with the anti-corruption department, the police said that they turned him over to the Saddar police station.
According to the PTI, the politician was kidnapped by unidentified individuals.
PTI Mahar Javed Hasan, the secretary general of Muzaffargarh, had stated that MNA Jatoi had vanished from sight after being kidnapped on Wednesday from his Multan home by unknown individuals.
Following the Supreme Court’s decision in favor of PTI over the reserved seats, the previous ruling party has accused the government of implementing certain oppressive and repressive policies aimed at pressuring its members.PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan asserted last week that his party’s lawmakers were being pressured to change their allegiance and asked the Supreme Court to step in and settle the dispute.
He denounced the “abduction” of PTI leaders and their families, including MNA Sahibzada Ameer Sultan, Rizwan Malik of the PTI media wing, Mian Tajamal Hussain and brother Mian Imtiaz Hussain of Mian Fayyaz Ahmad Chajra, and other social media activists.
The Supreme Court decided on Friday that the PTI was entitled to the distribution of reserved seats, giving the party a significant legal win.
