The Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are expected to be penetrated by strong winds on Thursday, according to the Met Office’s forecast for more monsoon rains in Karachi and other parts of the nation from Friday, August 12, to Monday, August 12.
The meteorological service had earlier predicted one or two spells of heavy rain for the port city from August 4 to 7, when light to moderate rain showers were expected to affect several areas of the city.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released a new weather forecast that calls for rain, wind, and thundershowers in a few isolated areas of Sindh, including Mirpur Khas, Khairpur, Thatta, Badin, Chhor, Padidan, Sajawal, Karachi, Hyderabad, Tando Allayar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, and Jamshoro.Additionally, from August 9 to 12, with sporadic breaks, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Tala Gang, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur, Khushab, and Sargodha are all expected to experience rain-wind and thundershowers with scattered heavyfalls.
