Swimming duo Ellie Challis and Louise Fiddes also triumphed during a thrilling fifteen minutes in the pool, while triathletes David Ellis and Megan Richter took home early gold medals for Great Britain.

In the mixed team compound open final, Para-archers Nathan Macqueen and Jodie Grinham—the latter participating while seven months pregnant—won gold. Stephen McGuire became a Paralympian champion in boccia.

On Monday, triathletes Claire Cashmore from Britain earned silver, while Hannah Moore and Lauren Steadman from the United States won bronze.

Silver went to Dan Bethell and Krysten Coombs in badminton, but sprinter Jonnie Peacock suffered grief after placing sixth in the men’s T64 100m final.

With Monday’s results, Great Britain now has 29 golds from the Paris Games and 54 total medals, second only to China (87 medals, including 43 golds), who had won the most medals at the previous five Games.
In addition to becoming a Paralympic champion, British para-archer Jodie Grinham is seven months pregnant.

The 31-year-old, who on Sunday defeated teammate Phoebe Paterson Pine to win bronze in the women’s individual compound event, won gold in the mixed team compound final on Monday with Nathan Macqueen. Iran was defeated 155-151.

Grinham, who is already a mother to her young son Christian, has garnered international media interest.
