On Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave credit to the efforts and policies of the current government for the noteworthy decline in inflation, which saw the nation’s annual rate fall to 9.6%.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the country’s annual inflation rate fell to 9.6% in August, marking the first time it has been in the single digits in almost three years. This isn’t a coincidence! PM Shehbaz declared, “These are results,” in a message posted on his official X account.
PM Shehbaz attributes the government’s efforts to the 9.6% inflation rate down.
The prime minister’s comments follow data from PBS that showed a notable decline in the inflation rate, which has been above 20% since May 2022 and peaked at an astounding 38% last May.
