The new series of currency notes, which will be released by the end of this year and range in value from Rs10 to Rs5,000, were shortlisted for design and introduced by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday.
The new ideas are presently being reviewed by foreign designers who will determine the final look of the new banknotes, the central bank said in a press release, expressing its gratitude for the inventiveness shown by local artists who took part in the competition.
“The SBP will make sure that the new currency series honors the progressive ideals and rich cultural legacy of our country. The SBP said, “We hope the final designs will accurately reflect this collaborative work.
