Michael O’Leary, the CEO of Ryanair, is “happy” to put a two-drink limit on alcohol on flights.

Michael O'Leary, the CEO of Ryanair, has stated that he is willing to implement a two-drink restriction on his aircraft—provided that airport bars follow suit.

Following a “spike” in violent disturbance among passengers over the summer, he is calling for curbs on alcohol consumption.
Ibiza was among the worst-hit places, according to Mr. O’Leary, who made this statement to Sky News last month.

A Ryanair flight from Manchester to Ibiza was rerouted to Toulouse, France, on Sunday due to unruly passengers.

When questioned by News about whether he would limit patrons to two alcoholic beverages, Mr. O’Leary responded that he would be “happy to do it tomorrow”.

He went on, saying that if restricting alcohol use at the airport—where the issue is originated—will cost more than it.

The actual problem is how to prevent these individuals from getting intoxicated at airports, especially in light of the significant increase in air traffic control delays that we have seen this summer.

They’re coming around to the idea of having too much alcohol in them. We don’t serve them alcohol if we determine that they are intoxicated while on board. However, that doesn’t address the issue.

Speaking ahead of the company’s annual meeting in Dublin, the CEO of Ryanair informed shareholders that passenger volume was expected to increase by 8% to 200 million this year.
