From teaching physical education in a small Swedish town, he ascended to the pinnacles of English football.
Eriksson left his position as sporting director of the Swedish club Karlstad in February 2023 due to health concerns.
Eriksson was granted his lifelong dream when he captained Liverpool Legends during a charity game against Ajax at Anfield in March, following the announcement of his cancer diagnosis.
