During his testimony before a congressional committee regarding a welfare misspending scam in Mississippi, the 54-year-old former quarterback disclosed his illness.
Not only has Favre given back almost $1 million in speaking fees paid for by a state assistance program, but he also invested in a biotech business connected to the case. Favre is not charged with any crimes.

Former NFL player for the Green Bay Packers, the player told the committee he wasted money investing in a business he thought was creating a “breakthrough concussion drug” that would assist other people.

“As you can imagine, even though it’s too late for me because I recently received a Parkinson’s diagnosis, this is a cause that is very important to me.

From 1995 to 1997, Favre led the Green Bay Packers to three consecutive Super Bowl victories and was named the team’s MVP (most valuable player).

From 1992 until 2007, he was a member of the Green Bay Packers. He also played for the Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets, and Minnesota Vikings.
