According to the palace, Catherine will stay in the hospital for ten to fourteen days following her successful Tuesday operation.

The princess, 42, wants to apologize for delaying her forthcoming engagements, according to the palace.

“Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter,” said a statement.

The palace stated that Catherine does not have cancer but did not provide any other information regarding her course of treatment.
However, her condition is serious enough to require up to two weeks in the hospital, and her recovery is anticipated to take two to three months.

The length of Catherine’s anticipated hospital stay and the official palace statement both make it evident that her health is a serious concern.

After treating many minor ailments, the patient can be quickly discharged home.

The princess’s December diary was filled with entries, and her public appearances did not reveal any signs of illness.

While the princess is in the hospital, her husband, the Prince of Wales, will also be delaying some of his engagements and William won’t be performing any official duties.

She will likely recover at home in Windsor, where the Waleses currently reside with their children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 years old, after being released from the hospital.

Kensington Palace said in a statement on Wednesday afternoon: “Her Royal Highness Yesterday, The London Clinic admitted The Princess of Wales for her scheduled abdominal surgery.

“The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery.”

In addition, the palace stated that the princess hopes the public “will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible” and that she is aware of the attention her surgery will bring.

Kensington Palace stated that it would only release updates in the event that there was noteworthy new information.

The London Clinic bills itself as the biggest independent private hospital in the United Kingdom and is located close to Regent’s Park in central London.
