LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rallies in Islamabad turned fatal, and on Sunday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lamented the death of a police officer who was injured amid violent clashes.
PM Shehbaz denounced the horrible event and chastised the Imran Khan-founded party, saying it consistently chooses the violent route while posing as a protestor.
The premier made these remarks in response to miscreants attacking and severely torturing policeman Abdul Hameed when he was on duty at Chungi Number 26 on GT Road.
Afterwards, the police officer, who had allegedly been “kidnapped” and was violently attacked, passed away from his wounds.
Even after Section 144 was implemented, which prohibits political demonstrations, the law and order situation in Islamabad remained unstable as PTI attempted to hold a rally at D-Chowk.
