The market continued its upward trajectory on Tuesday, and momentum at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) remained robust.
Before closing at 156,563, up 476 points or 0.31%, the benchmark KSE-100 index jumped 1,001 points during intraday trade.
The surge was headed by heavyweight stocks, which added 886 points to the index amongst ENGROH, FFC, MEBL, MARI, and EFERT.
As trading volumes surpassed one billion, activity remained strong.
A total of Rs55.1 billion worth of shares, totaling 1,066 million, were exchanged. With 169 million shares traded, K-Electric (KEL) led the session in volume.
