According to sources on Saturday, social media personality Samiya Hijab and Hassan Zahid, the suspect in her kidnapping case, have reached an out-of-court settlement.
While Zahid’s attorneys withdrew their bail requests from the magistrate court, alleging jurisdiction, and filed new ones at the district and sessions court in Islamabad, complainant Hijab did not show up for today’s hearing.
Judge Amir Zia of Additional Sessions, meantime, sent letters to each party and postponed the case until September 15.
Zahid was placed in jail on judicial remand in the Hijab abduction case by the local court in the federal capital one day prior.
After presenting Zahid to Judicial Magistrate Yasir Mahmood, police requested a five-day physical remand so they could conduct additional investigation.
