ISLAMABAD: According to The News, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, the leader of the Sunni Ittehad Council, resigned from his post as information secretary on Tuesday, dealing a blow to the opposition alliance.
Tehreek-e-Tahafuz Ayeen-e-Pakistan (TTAP) sources claim that Raza was extremely offended by the reported trolling by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) social media activists after he refused to participate in the September 20 “mission nor.”
Speaking to the media the day before, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan explained that the party’s platform had not made any formal declaration about the “mission nor” and hinted that the call might have come from an unidentified source.
On social media, some central and opposition leaders were observed reciting “Azaan” to commemorate the “mission nor.”
