According to investigators, a shooter who scribbled “ANTI-ICE” on an unused bullet opened fire on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Dallas from a rooftop nearby on Wednesday, killing one inmate and seriously wounded two more before dying himself.
The attack was seized upon by US President Donald Trump and his administration as the most recent example of what they described as a spike in left-wing-instigated violence with political motivations.
They charged Democrats, including California Governor Gavin Newsom, with inciting hatred by unjustly demonizing conservative political leaders and law enforcement.
A picture of what he claimed to be the suspect’s unused ammunition was shared on X by FBI Director Kash Patel. One round’s shell casing included the inscription “ANTI-ICE.”
