under the first debate, Casey said that McCormick, a former hedge fund executive, West Point graduate, combat veteran of the Gulf War, and Treasury Department official under the administration of former President George W. Bush, is a rich carpetbagger.
Growing up in northeast Pennsylvania and the son of the first chancellor of the Keystone State’s state university system, McCormick has faced criticism throughout his 2022 and 2024 Senate campaigns for possessing a home in a wealthy area of Connecticut while serving as CEO of Bridgewater Associates.
McCormick “told voters he lived in Pennsylvania when he was really living in Connecticut,” according to the narrator of a Casey digital ad that was released the night before the last debate. I hope he is able to return.”
And in reference to McCormick, Casey made the following claim on the campaign trail this past weekend: “You shouldn’t lie to the people you seek to represent, especially about something as simple as where you live.”
