A liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanker carrying 27 crew members, including 24 Pakistanis, was freed by the Houthis and is already out of Yemeni waters, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated on Saturday.
“Thank God, the tanker and its crew have now been freed by the Houthis and are out of Yemeni waters,” the interior minister wrote in a post on X.
On September 17, 2025, an Israeli drone attacked the LPG tanker carrying 27 crew members, including 24 Pakistanis (including Captain Mukhtar Akbar), two Sri Lankans, and one Nepali, when it was parked at the Houthi-controlled port of Ras al-Esa.
