US President Donald Trump said Monday that the peace plan for Gaza has the full support of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
“From the start, Field Marshal and PM [Shehbaz] were on our side—incredible, in fact. They recently released a statement expressing their complete belief in this agreement. During a joint news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump stated, “They fully support this.”
His comments were made just hours after the prime minister praised Trump’s plan to halt the war in Gaza, stating that stability and economic prosperity in the region depend on a lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinian people.
