The partnership between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) seemed to be faltering as leaders of the two parties criticized one another on Tuesday.
After the floods, a public breach between the parties emerged. The Punjab administration asserted it had its own plans to help individuals who had been harmed in the tragedy, while the PPP demanded that the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) be used to help flood victims in Punjab.
After the Punjab chief minister’s comments regarding the canals and the PPP leaders’ responses to her government’s performance during the floods prompted the PPP to boycott both the Senate and the National Assembly sessions, the conflict over the pressing issues grew more heated.
