On Tuesday, Iran said that 120 citizens who are being deported from the US as part of President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown will take a plane home this week.
According to Hossein Noushabadi, a foreign ministry official in charge of consular affairs, “120 people should be deported and flown home over the next couple of days,” the Tasnim news agency reported.
“The US immigration service has decided to deport around 400 Iranians currently in the United States, most of them after entering illegally.”
About 100 Iranians who had fled to the United States were being sent back to their country of origin as part of a deal between Washington and Tehran, according to the New York Times.
