According to sources who spoke to Geo News, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday rejected Vice-President Rajeev Shukla of the BCCI’s repeated demands to turn over the Asia Cup 2025 trophy, stating that the Indian captain should pick up the trophy in person.
Shukla urged for the trophy presentation several times during a regular ACC meeting in Dubai, which was presided over by Naqvi.
However, Naqvi retorted that the matter was not on the agenda for the meeting. Following more pressure, he said that the captain of the Indian team should come to the ACC headquarters in person to pick up the trophy if the team desired it.
Whether the trophy will be given to the Indian team has not yet been decided.
