MUZAFFARABAD: In the midst of ongoing protests that have left over 100 people injured and three police officers dead, the federal government has once again extended an offer of talks to the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKJAAC).
At a news conference, Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq stated, “90% of the committee’s demands have already been accepted […] federal ministers stand as guarantors to ensure implementation of these demands.”
A day earlier, amid sporadic clashes between activists and law enforcement in the state capital, Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir saw a massive shutdown and wheeljam strike for the second day in a row.
