By stating that it must be limited to particular instances of misconduct, the publisher of the tabloid Daily Mail on Wednesday attempted to narrow the scope of a lawsuit filed by Prince Harry and other well-known individuals over alleged illegal behavior.
King Charles’ younger son Harry, along with six other people, including artist Elton John, accuses Associated Newspapers (ANL) of grave privacy violations that go back thirty years.
ANL, which also publishes the MailOnline and the Mail on Sunday, said the “lurid” allegations are absurd and rejects any wrongdoing.
Next year’s trial is due.
The publisher stated on Wednesday that the claimants’ attorneys had disregarded a prior court decision that stated they should adhere to certain charges, despite the fact that a trial is scheduled for early next year.
