Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, blasted the Modi administration on Friday for the poor quality of education in the nation and declared that India would guarantee justice for its students by 2024.
In an X post, he stated, “We need ‘Shiksha Kaal’ for India more than ‘Amrit Kaal’.”
Citing the Annual State of Education Report (ASER), he declared, “In 2024, India shall ensure NYAY for our students from the Modi Government, as its report card on ‘Education’ is marked with gross Failure.”
According to the report, “56.7 percent of 14 to 18-year-old students in rural India can’t do class 3 math and 26.5 percent of this age group still cannot read a class 2 level text fluently in their regional language” .
He also mentioned that “lack of interest” is the primary reason given by 25% of youth in the 17–18 age group for quitting school.
In addition, Kharge included a 35-second video in his post, accusing the BJP of “destroying our young people’s future.”
