SHIKARPUR: According to police on Saturday, a truck struck a post on the National Highway bypass close to Shikarpur, running over at least seven persons and injuring six more.
The truck, which was carrying vegetables, lost control, struck an electric pole, and then ran over people sleeping on the side of the road, according to officials. Local farmers who were sleeping close to the bypass were the victims.
The bodies of the injured and dead were taken to Shikarpur’s Civil Hospital by rescue personnel and law enforcement.
