On the third day of the second Test at Multan, spinners Shoaib Bashir and Jack Leach shared seven wickets to bowl Pakistan out for 221 and give England a target of 297 to win.
Salman Agha (63) and Sajid Khan (22) rallied Pakistan from a perilous 134-5 with a 65-run ninth-wicket stand, but Bashir concluded with 4-66 and Leach with 3-67.
366 was made by the hosts in their opening knock.
In the 58th over, Brydon Carse put a stop to Salman’s innings. In the 31st over, Carse took the crucial wicket of Mohammad Rizwan, who was a wicketkeeper and batter.
On a ground that was previously used for the first Test, Pakistani off-spinner Sajid grabbed 7-111, his second five-wicket haul, to bowl England out for 291 runs.
