A nationwide notice has been issued by Pakistan’s National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) due to an increase in phishing attempts that target citizens via phone calls, WhatsApp messages, and SMS.
According to reports, hackers are utilizing phony websites, texts, and phone calls that look like official correspondence to obtain financial and personal information.
An urgent cybersecurity alert is issued by National CERT.
The National Cyber Emergency Response Team issued a public advisory warning people not to answer shady calls or messages or click on strange links. According to the government, hackers are employing dishonest methods to get hold of private data, including one-time passwords (OTPs), bank account numbers, and identity card information.
The warning underlined that phishing messages frequently pose as offers of rewards, lottery victories, or bank alerts in order to fool recipients into disclosing personal information.
