According to the most recent Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which estimates the Portugal great’s net worth at $1.4 billion, Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first football player to achieve billionaire status.
The 40-year-old striker’s financial rise follows his June signing of a new deal with Al-Nassr, a Saudi team, reportedly valued over $400 million.
In addition to a ten-year Nike contract for around $18 million a year, Ronaldo made over $550 million in compensation between 2002 and 2023, according to Bloomberg. He also received lucrative endorsement deals with Armani, Castrol, and other brands, which increased his wealth by more than $175 million.
Ronaldo was already the highest-paid player in football history when he moved from Manchester United to Al-Nassr in 2023.
