Hugh Jackman and his ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness are moving past the difficult stages of their divorce and toward a more amicable relationship.
According to an insider, the former couple has been slowly rebuilding communication over the past few months. “It was tense when they were handling business matters, but now the focus is on emotional closure,” the source revealed.
The 57-year-old actor and 69-year-old Furness have met several times to discuss unresolved issues. The insider explained that once legal filings were finalized, it created space for meaningful conversations and allowed them to find a path forward.
Jackman and Furness, who separated after 27 years of marriage in September 2023, reportedly split after Jackman began a relationship with his Music Man co-star Sutton Foster. Together, they share two children, Oscar, 25, and Ava, 20.
“The process was challenging for both, and lawyers initially advised them not to speak,” the source added. “Deborra-Lee sought clarity and accountability—it wasn’t about finances.”
Despite legal advice, the duo prioritized dialogue, aiming to restore a cooperative dynamic. “They’ve experienced so much together and want to make progress—not just for themselves, but also for their children,” the insider said.
