Days after the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) aided the coalition government in passing the 26th Constitutional Amendment, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of the party, said that “a very dirty draft” would have been adopted had his party not supported the amendment.
“We had only eight votes,” he told reporters in Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday. A very filthy proposal that was unacceptable to the opposition parties would have been passed without our backing.
