In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s South Waziristan district, at least four Frontier Corps soldiers were killed in a gunfight with terrorists from the outlawed Fitnal Khawarij group, formerly known as the TTP, the military’s media wing reported on Thursday.
The troops who died were identified as Lance Naik Habibullah, 28, of the Orakzai district; Lance Naik Gulab Zaman, 30, of the Karak district; Lance Naik Muzammil Mehmood, 30, of the Karak district; and Naib Subedar Taib Shah, 38, of the Tank district.
The Inter-Services Public Relations agency claimed in a statement that Wednesday’s gunfight with terrorists occurred in the Karama neighborhood.
The gunfight claimed the lives of at least five terrorists.
