In order to allow supporters to pay their respects in person, Maradona’s children did, however, declare last year that they intended to relocate his ashes to a public mausoleum.
At a hearing on Wednesday, a court in San Isidro, an area outside of Buenos Aires, approved the petitions for “humanitarian and emotional reasons”.
The court further stated that Maradona’s five children ought to determine the timing of the removal.
Currently interred at the Jardin de Bella Vista cemetery, some 31 miles northwest, are Maradona’s remains.
According to the plans, the star’s remains would be relocated to the M10 Memorial, a new mausoleum in the affluent Puerto Madero neighborhood of Buenos Aires.
The location is presently being built.
The celebrity, who captained Napoli to the Italian league championship in 1987 and assisted his nation in winning the World Cup in 1986, passed away at the age of 60.
