The two-child couple, a Colombian pop artist and a former professional Spanish football player, announced their split in June 2022 after 11 years of marriage.
Shakira, 47, is set to release Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, which translates to “Women No Longer Cry,” her first album in seven years.
“For a long time, I put my career on hold to be next to Gerard so he could play football,” she said to The Times, looking back on the time since the release of her 2017 album El Dorado.
“There was a lot of sacrifice for love.”
