ISLAMABAD: According to a member of the team that recently visited Kabul, the Taliban government has strongly warned the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leadership against utilizing Afghan soil for operations inside Pakistan, and such acts have harmed relations between the two peoples.
A team led by the chairman of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Sami), Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq, traveled to Kabul. Hamid is the late Maulana Sami-ul-Haq’s son, and several Taliban leaders have graduated from his madrassa, Dar-ul-Uloom Haqqania. Asrar Madani, the head of the International Research Council for Religious Affairs, which researches the Islamic Movement, coordinated the visit. This was the second high-profile visit, following Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s trip in January.
