Three times over, Patrick Mahomes has won the Super Bowl and been named MVP.
The quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs is currently in the running to be considered for the GOAT; in fact, he’s already there.
With his third MVP nomination, Mahomes entered an exclusive group of players as the only three players in NFL history to win the award at least three times in their careers, along with Tom Brady (five) and Joe Montana (three).
Mahomes tucked and ran on a fourth and one in overtime to salvage the season. He gained an additional 19 yards in running on third down after a few plays. Afterwards, to win the Super Bowl, he connected with Mecole Hardman for a three-yard score.
During the extra stanza, Mahomes completed all eight of his throws.
Mahomes is currently 17–14, including in the postseason, while behind by ten points or more, a situation he has encountered in every Super Bowl quarterback has participated in. In the big game, though, he’s 3-1.
Thus, don’t write him off. Why not? Mahomes explained why during the post-game festivities.
