During a Friday visit to the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov paid a visit to General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff, and commended Pakistan for playing a crucial role in preserving regional peace.
In the course of their extensive talks on issues of shared interest, such as peace and security in Asia, the Azeri official also conveyed his heartfelt gratitude for the nation’s unwavering support for the central Asian nation.
In addition to highlighting Pakistan’s long-standing brotherly connections to Azerbaijan, COAS General Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to offering complete support and cooperation in the fields of defense and security.
He also commended the Azerbaijani Armed Forces for their valor and outstanding professionalism.
Earlier this week, Bayramov made his formal two-day visit to Islamabad.
The visiting dignitary briefed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the talks with Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar during their meeting on Thursday.
Additionally, he informed the prime minister of Azerbaijan’s strong determination to further strengthen its ties with Pakistan and conveyed warm greetings from the country’s leadership.
Bayramov and Dar had a discussion where they talked about the multifaceted bilateral and regional agenda that includes both bilateral and international problems.
The two parties decided to increase collaboration in a number of areas, including as commerce, investment, energy, and connectivity, in order to fully realize the enormous potential of their cordial relationship.
Additionally, they decided to improve legislative exchanges, fortify cultural ties, and encourage interpersonal interactions between academics, businesspeople, and students.
