According to a recent report, President Biden’s campaign staff is hoping for Taylor Swift’s endorsement in the 2024 race because of the potential impact of her financial appeal.
The president’s advisors have discussed taking him to a stop on Swift’s record-breaking “Eras Tour,” according to a report published in The New York Times on Monday. However, the story clarified that the suggestion was made mostly in jest.
35,000 additional voter registrations were reportedly sparked by one of Swift’s 2022 Instagram postings, according to The Times. As the president looks to “pump energy” into his reelection campaign, “fund-raising appeals from Ms. Swift could be worth millions of dollars for Mr. Biden,” the article stated. Supporters of Biden have been disturbed by recent polls showing him either trailing or deadlocked with former President Trump, the clear favorite to win the Republican nomination once more.
Democratic governor of California, Gavin Newsom, expressed his hope in September that she would get more active in the president’s reelection campaign. Swift has been vocal in her support of Democratic politicians in recent elections, despite earlier criticism from the left for her lack of vocalization of progressive causes.
