Dupont, 27, chose to play for France’s sevens team in the lead-up to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris by skipping this year’s Six Nations.
Due to Dupont’s yellow card, the USA had a 14–12 lead, but France dominated the second half and he scored the game’s only try.
In the end, Argentina defeated New Zealand 36–12.
France was defeated by New Zealand 35–19 in the women’s final.
This was the fourth event of the SVNS season; the next one is scheduled for March 1-3 in Los Angeles.
