The budget for the upcoming fiscal year includes a 10% rise in the pension and salary of government employees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Aftab Alam, the finance minister, unveiled the Rs. 1754 billion annual budget for the fiscal year 2024–25 on Friday, including a 100 billion rupee surplus.
Additionally, the provincial government suggested raising the minimum salary to Rs. 36,000 from Rs. 32,000.
The minister stated during the assembly’s budget address that the estimated expenses came to Rs1,654 billion. According to Chief Minister Ali Ameen Gandapur’s orders, the budget for 2024–25 is primarily focused on social protection, peace, employment possibilities, and economic development.
During the budget 2024–25 presentation, he stated that the KP government expected to receive a total of 1754 billion under various terms.
