Cillian Murphy, the legendary Peaky Blinder actor, recently discussed his preference for interacting with his fan base.
Cillian told GQ that he doesn’t like taking photos and would rather talk to fans briefly.
As Daniel Riley, a GQ reporter, walked down Dublin’s streets with him, a fan requested a photo. He said, “Oh, I don’t do pictures,” but to alleviate the fan’s sadness, he suggested a polite conversation instead.
“Once I started doing it, it transformed my life. I just believe it’s preferable to say hello and have a small discussion,” he added, explaining his hate for photos by saying, “You don’t need a visual record of everywhere you’ve visited in a day.”
Cillian previously spoke with The Guardian in 2022 and shared his ideas on photography. He stated that he enjoys it when people notice him on the street, but “what I don’t like is people secretly taking photographs.”
“It’s so f weird,” he explained.
Cillian, known for not being very active online, also complained against the alarming media focus, saying, “We need to fix this constant camera presence issue.”
“Or maybe I am just old,” he said.
