Chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has referred to the recently initiated anti-terrorism initiative of the current government, Azm-e-Istehkam, as a “instability operation” that will exacerbate the nation’s vulnerabilities.
In response to an increase in terrorist attacks around the nation, the government on Saturday began a military operation to eradicate the threat of militancy from the nation.
But the proposal was also opposed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the archrival of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and the JUI-F.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday in Quetta, Fazl claimed that the government has virtually no authority in the nation.
