Following the devastating announcement of his cancer diagnosis by Buckingham Palace, Thomas Markle, Meghan Markle’s estranged father, wrote to King Charles expressing his best wishes.
“I want to send my best wishes to King Charles and hope he gets well very soon,” Thomas remarked in reference to Charles’ health in an interview with Daily Mail.
“I wish him all the good wishes in the world,” he continued.
Thomas has had his fair share of health problems since he had a significant stroke in 2022. A day prior to Meghan and Prince Harry’s scheduled wedding, he also suffered from an attack.
Therefore, on Meghan Markle’s wedding day, King Charles had to step in and take Thomas’s place by leading her down the aisle.
According to reports, Harry will visit King Charles in the UK in the interim. Nevertheless, it’s still unclear if Meghan will go with him.
“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted,” the Buckingham Palace said, breaking the heartbreaking news of Charles’ cancer diagnosis. A type of cancer has been detected by further diagnostic testing.
“During this period, doctors have advised His Majesty to delay public-facing duties. He has started a schedule of regular treatments today,” the statement continued.
“His Majesty will carry out State business and official paperwork as usual during this period.”
