After months of acrimonious back-and-forth over arrears, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and the Centre have finally decided to put their differences behind them and collaborate for the benefit of the public.
The situation occurred during a Monday meeting in Islamabad between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and KP’s fiery Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, the federal minister of energy, and the federal interior secretary were also present during the meeting.
It is important to note that the KP government and the Centre have been at loggerheads over a number of issues, including the province’s protracted power outages. Chief Minister Gandapur even threatened to seize control of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) after criticizing the excessive power outages.
